| That doctor is insane.....if I could clearly hear what Kaitlin said while watching it on tv I assume the doctor could hear her while standing right in front of her. |

| So could I. No way am I buying into all this. I heard Kaitlin as clear as a bell. She wanted to continue to fight. This is awfully fishy to me. There were alot of early stoppages that night. They all helped out the EliteXC stars to secure victories. Just thinking outloud here. |

that particular call was fine imo Kaitlin was lunched, that eye was closing up quick and would have exploded first solid shot next round, and right hand bombs which are her specialty no less. plus if you watch again after the choke and loss of oxygen-to-brain she was even walking back to the wrong corner. as someone mentioned Kaitlin could have had a broken leg and may still wanted to continue since i believe that's the kind of warrior heart she has but no need to risk permanent injury or a tragedy. she is still young and can come back and beat most other top girls anyway. but unfortunately it even looked like Gina was laying back a bit lettin Kaitlin recover wanting to bang more, could have really gone for some serious Muay Thai elbows inside before taking her back and going for the RNC. Carano was just gettin warmed up finding her rhythm and would have been fresh rested coming off the stool. like a lioness going after a wounded gazelle at that point. however, once again Kaitlin's treatment post-fight sounds like it was really lame and peculiar..

| GFC. You, can make good solid arguements about the stoppage. There is one thing I agree with you 100%. kaitlins postfight treatment was a total disgrace and a real slap in her face. On that I find common ground with you. They should have treated her with a whole lot more respect after the fight. She truly has the heart of warrior, and as such deserved to be respected in that fashion after the fight, win or lose. |

| I expected the black eye to be bigger after seeing those pics you just posted. On the UG Kaitlin posted some pics of it a few days after it happened... not bad at all. |

"Like a lioness going after a wounded gazelle"
I realize that you're a staunch Gina supporter but that kind of bias is really not necessary. |

Here's the deal. This show had three questionable stoppages. Now that the reviews are out and fingers are being pointed, I don't think it's very surprising that Nick Dembo is covering his bureaucratic ass. So at this point the whole controversy is laughable incompetence not worthy of outrage. You're dealing with pencil pushing bureaucrats here. What do you expect?
Unless I'm losing my memory, I don't recall Gus Johnson interviewing any of the losers post match. So if they're not going to interview Baroni, I don't expect an interview with Kaitlin Young either and I'm not sure why anyone would expect that. |

Frank, but Baroni who was also banged up did a whole post segment with Shamrock, are you saying outside of that all fighters who didn't win or got injured were treated the same post-fight as Kaitlin? even if so still not cool imo...

| He didn't do the interview with Gus Johnson. The other possibility is they may have intended to interview all the fighters but may have been concerned about time. They ran over anyway but may have wanted to avoid that and would have cut back interviews. I think they spent way too much time on those dancers, the pre fight blah blah blah and Busta Rhymes. CBS has acknowledged that the show could be tighter and they'll work on that for the next show. |

with that part totally agree, and i'm quite sure there will be improvements next CBS card, that was part of the learning curve, and you're right even many of the winners including Kimbo were not interviewed by Shamrock, but got the impression the Shamrock interviews were not part of the main show time constraints, so that was kinda weird. but i'm saying all the other issues with Kaitlin post-fight, the question is, were all the other (male) fighters who lost or injured treated this way, and even if they were, was uncalled for and someone there should have to answer for that kinda sh*t, and least a logical explanation or some consideration...

I doubt that was the reason, since they didn't invite her to the after-party which had nothing to do with time. Doesn't add up. |
